Have a Classic Bally/Stern pinball machine with a switch that seems stuck "on"? You check the switch and it is not mechanically closed, so why is it still registering? Aside from board issues, the shorted green .047/50v green disc soldered to the switch is probably your culprit. These caps are infamous for failing/shorting and causing a stuck switch. Over the years, techs have cut the lead on these caps, saying they are not needed. They are there for a reason, and that is to hold the switch closure just a little longer for the MPU to detect the closure.
If you are replacing a couple of these, while there, why not replace them all so you don't have to chase stuck switches in the future?
Includes:
- (20) .047/50v disc capacitors
